Hierarchical Multiple-Point Geostatistical Modeling Method and Application Based on Braided River Reservoir Architecture

The Lower Shihezi Formation of the Daniudi gas field in Ordos Basin is a typical reservoir braided river system an alluvial plain, characterized by extensive development, parallel development from near source to center basin, and frequent interweaving cut stacking, as well complex deposition process that has seen channel changes. belt, channel, bar inside river, interlayer within constitute hierarchical complicated architectural feature, which poses great challenge accurately characterize this type for modeling. We proposed hierarchical, level-by-level embedding, progressive multiple-point geostatistical modeling strategy refined layer according 5–3 level unit hierarchy, with results each providing constraints next geological model based on combination qualitative anatomy quantitative pre-architecture scale critical guiding efficient remaining Daniudi.
